For Those Who Cared

In the work - For Those Who Cared - I deal with the death of my father, who died of Covid 19 in May 2021. A time that is only dimly remembered by me. His death divided our family, responsibilities were denied, facts were denied, and vaccination debates were held at his funeral.
The fact that he got infected by family members, who are so-called vaccine opponents is still not being discussed in my family till today. My family refuses to talk about what happend and have broken off contact with me and my mother.

The split in my family, which is representative of the split in an entire society, forms the core of the work and has kept me from grieving for a long time. The reconstruction of the events and the photographic reappraisal are part of my mourning work. I realised that I took the pictures to find a way to show my family my feelings without being able to talk to them.
